February 2022 READING IN PROGRESS.

Mark Twain. THE GILDED AGE.  C. 1875.  (Yes THAT Mark Twain.)  (Begins with court case oldie worldie language, woman kills man, threads on to US Senators and corruption.  I can see how this would make a satisfying tv series and it is available.)

Isabel Allende. RIPPER.  (I like the idea of young folk having an online group activity called Ripper with the object that they try to solve local murders in L.A.  Of course real coppers are on the chase also.)

RipperGroup. Game master Amanda. Daughter of missing Indiana.  Her international online crime solving friends are Col. Paddington. Ababatha.  Esmeralda. Jezabel.. Sherlock Holmes. Boppo.?

Hugh Breakey  THE BEAUTIFUL FALL.  (A young man loses his memory every 179 days.  He begins a strategy to record the activity of current 179 days.  He will lose his memory again but this gives him a past.  Clever sensitive book.  Dominoes and a romance.) (Finished.) 😏

Volker Kutscher.  BABYLON BERLIN.  Will comment on this book later.  Crime, cops, corruption, Russians, gangsters, drugs and all that. Bit of a thriller set in Berlin c 1920/30.  (Finished.)😎
